SHOCK TUBE SYSTEMS INC.

(Simsbury, CT, December 23, 2008) Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBA&D) announced today that it has acquired Shock Tube Systems Inc. (STS).  Located in Sterling, CT, STS is a developer and manufacturer of non-electric initiation products for military and other specialty applications.

“The acquisition of STS extends Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company’s Soldier Systems product capability and strengthens both companies’ abilities to innovate and respond to growing customer demand for new, cost effective, high reliability solutions. We are very pleased to welcome STS to our team”; said Michael Pitcher, President and CEO of EBA&D.   

STS was founded in 1996 and is recognized by customers for delivering creativity and responsiveness to the military non-electric initiation marketplace. Products manufactured include single and dual shock tube initiators, lead-in lines and specialty firing devices.
